What may not be sold or done on Omoja, and what happens when a store is reported.
This document is published in English only. The English version is the one that applies.
The short version
Sell real things you are entitled to sell, describe them honestly, and do not pretend to be someone else. Almost every enforcement action we take comes down to one of those three.
What may not be sold
These may not be listed, whether or not they are legal where you are:
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives and their components.
- Illegal drugs, and substances sold as a legal substitute for them.
- Prescription medicines, and any medical device requiring a prescription.
- Counterfeit goods, replicas presented as genuine, and anything infringing someone else’s trade mark or copyright.
- Stolen goods, and equipment whose main purpose is theft or bypassing security.
- Live animals, endangered species, and products made from them.
- Human remains and body parts.
- Sexual services, and pornographic material.
- Tobacco, nicotine products and alcohol, unless you hold the licence your country requires and can show it.
- Financial instruments, currency, cryptocurrency and gift cards traded as an investment.
- Personal data, account credentials and mailing lists.
- Anything you cannot lawfully sell where you or your buyer are located.
Counterfeits and other brands
Selling a genuine branded item you legitimately obtained is fine. Selling a copy is not, and neither is describing a copy as genuine.
Do not use another business’s name, logo or store address in a way that suggests you are them or are endorsed by them. Rights holders can report an infringing store to us, and we act on credible reports.
How you must behave
Regardless of what you sell, do not:
- Take payment for goods you do not have or do not intend to send.
- Advertise a price you will not honour, or hide compulsory charges until the conversation.
- Impersonate another business, or claim approval or certification you do not hold.
- Use the platform to send bulk unsolicited messages.
- Upload malware, or link buyers to anything harmful.
- Attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to Omoja, or scrape it at scale.
- Post content that harasses a person, or that incites violence or hatred.
What happens when a store is reported
Every storefront carries a report link, and anyone can use it without an account. Here is the sequence, so there are no surprises:
- A person reviews the report. We do not suspend a store automatically because it was reported, and repeated reports from one source do not add weight.
- If the report is unclear or unfounded, we close it and nothing happens to the store. We do not notify the merchant of every report.
- For a fixable problem, such as one listing that crosses a line, we contact the merchant, explain what is wrong, and give them a chance to correct it.
- For a serious problem, such as fraud in progress, counterfeit goods, or anything unlawful, we suspend the store immediately and explain afterwards.
- A suspended store stops serving to the public. The merchant keeps access to their dashboard and their data throughout.
- Repeat breaches after a warning lead to removal.
Appealing
If your store is suspended or removed and you think we got it wrong, email info@ussdly.com from the address on the account. Tell us what you think happened. A person will read it and reply, and we will reverse decisions that turn out to be mistakes.
You can export your data at any point during an appeal, including while suspended.
Reporting a store
Use the report link on the storefront itself, which tells us which store you mean. If you cannot reach the page, or you are a rights holder reporting an infringement, email info@ussdly.com with the store address and what is wrong.
Reports about a delivery that has not arrived, or a seller who has stopped replying, should go to the business first. We can act on a pattern of it, but we cannot recover your money, because the payment never passed through us.
